A little heat, a little sweet: this super easy recipe will become your go-to when it’s time to bring home the bacon.
With the help of Chipotle Tabasco and brown sugar, this quick recipe has minimal prep time; and, can be cooked on the smoker or in the oven. It makes it easy to eat a whole pack of bacon in one sitting (something we can’t recommend, but don’t deny doing). This bacon recipe is so delicious, your friends and family will be blown away at how easy it is to make.

1 pack Smithfield Hometown Original Bacon
1.4 cup light brown sugar
2-3 tablespoons Tabasco Chipotle (to taste)
Preheat smoker to 300F
Remove bacon from packaging
Lay out each bacon strip side by side
Coat evenly/sprinkle with light brown sugar, pat brown sugar into bacon
Generously coat bacon with Chipotle Tabasco (to taste) use basting brush to spread
Place bacon on foil pan (or on a large sheet of HD foil)
Place foil pan in the smoker for 30-45min or until desired crispiness is reached
Remove pan from smoker and plate

Do you only put sugar/chipotle on one side of the bacon? if so, why?
Great question! The answer is yes, only on one side because the juices drip onto the pan when cooking, coating the other side with flavor.
I take it the answer to question 1 is why you don’t put it on a rack inside the pan to cook?
