TABASCO SAUTEED ONIONS

A simple way to get flavorful onions

Big Poppa loves “sautéing” onions in a foil pouch.  It’s a quick and easy method that doesn’t require another pan. Seriously, the hardest part of this recipe is cutting the onions.

Use these onions anywhere you want to add more flavor: steaks, tacos, sandwiches, soups, pizzas… the sky’s the limit. Big Poppa likes using them on his Upside Down Tabasco Butter Burger.

Course: Appetizer, Side, Condiment    Cuisine: American   Prep Time: 5-10 min   Cook Time: 20 min   Servings: 4-6

Ingredients

2 sweet white onions, halved, cut into slices

1 tablespoon Tabasco Original Red

1/2-1 teaspoon Big Poppa’s Little Louie’s Garlic Seasoning w/Black Pepper

3 pats of salted butter

2 large sheets of heavy duty foil – foil grilling bags also work

Directions

Preheat grill to 300F

Slice onions into thin strips

Lay foil out – double layer (will need to fold into a pouch)

Place cut onions on top of the foil

Season onions with Big Poppa Smokers Little Louie’s Garlic Seasoning w/Black Pepper

Drizzle Tabasco Original Red over onions

Add 3 pats of butter on top of onions

Seal/fold foil into a pouch – make sure to seal all edges/corners so butter and moisture doesn’t leak out

Place foil pouch on the grill at 300F for 20 min

Remove foil pouch and carefully open to pour onions into a dish

Use as a garnish on steaks, sandwiches, burgers, anything you’d put onions on – serve hot
